When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but
the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in Me shall
possess the land, and shall inherit My holy mountain;
The inheritance God promised to Abraham now also belongs to the church
by faith, and we will possess the land and inherit the holy mountain of the
LORD. For this to happen, the LORD clearly states one of His conditions here,
“Trust Me!” This is a daily process of placing our trust in Him and continuing
to trust Him every step of the way. To do otherwise amounts to leaning on our
own understanding, trusting in ourselves, and getting in His way. He makes the
results of this course of action clear-cut too: let your own devices deliver
you, but the wind will blow them all away and leave behind emptiness and
foolishness.
