Philip Opened His Mouth

Acts 8:32-33

The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth: In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

The Lord opened not His mouth in order that the Scripture would be fulfilled, and the inward witness of the Holy Spirit would move upon the hearts of men after His resurrection.
Acts 8:34

And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

The prophets foretold of the redemption of mankind by the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, who remained dumb before His shearer. The gift of God through the indwelling Holy Spirit is the bold witness that caused Philip to become the mouth of the Lord.
Acts 8:35

Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

Jesus Christ will not keep silence much longer. As it is written,
Revelation 19:15-16

And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He hath on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

The LORD of the Vineyard

Luke 20:13

Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him.
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit took counsel in the ageless past of predawn creation. Before the foundation of the world, the LORD of the vineyard declared His decree to His beloved Son: You will be the Lamb slain for the sins of rebellious mankind. The kingdom of God and of His Christ were clearly foreshadowed by God, throughout the holy Scriptures, and also at Jesus’ baptism in the Holy Spirit and at His transfiguration. All of this to patiently and eternally carry out His original purpose for mankind: Adam made from the dust of the created world in His image. Reverence the LORD of the vineyard!

In Him That Is True

1 John 5:20

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
Precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. The ultimate revelation of God’s love toward man is His gift of Christ crucified on the cross, the sacrifice of His beloved Son to buy us back from total separation and spiritual death. Throughout the Bible the LORD speaks to this mystery, referring to the Messiah to come in hundreds of different ways. The single most important purpose of Scripture is to reveal the Lord Jesus Christ.

Did Not Our Heart Burn?

Luke 24:32

And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened to us the Scriptures?
The disciples on the way to Emmaus did not recognize the risen Saviour as He taught of Himself from Moses through the prophets. First they communed together and reasoned, and then He communed with them and revealed. First He opened the Scriptures, and then He opened their eyes as He broke bread. Jesus Himself drew near.

When a teacher is anointed by Christ, Jesus Himself draws near, and the hearts of believers are filled with a hunger and thirst for more. When the flames of knowledge are kindled in the heart, only the Holy Spirit waters of wisdom and understanding can satisfy the soul. The Scriptures are opened and rivers of living water begin pouring out of the belly of an obedient disciple of God. Immerse yourself in the Word daily to receive the baptism of a burning heart for the Lord Jesus Christ, and may the Holy Spirit minister to you and through you, from Deep Himself to the depth of your spirit. As it is written,
John 7:38

He that believeth on Me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
