Refuge in the Rock

Isaiah 16:3

Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth.

Before Christ returns to rescue His people Israel from what will seem like certain destruction, they will again be divided, and a portion of them will take refuge in the rock city of Petra. Yet in truth, their refuge will be in the Rock Himself, as He delivers them once and for all from the hands of those who would destroy them. The kingdom of God is come nigh unto the earth, and the increase of His government will know no boundaries. The knowledge of the glory of the Lord will cover the earth, as the waters cover the seas.

Eye to Eye

Isaiah 52:8

Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.

The LORD has promised, covenanted in His blood, to deliver Israel out of the fire. Even now as the forces of evil gather at her doorstep it is the Holy One, blessed be He, who is in control. Their crafty counsel will only accomplish His purpose: to show Israel His face when Jesus returns to the Mount of Olives. As they look upon Him whom they pierced they will mourn as for their own firstborn, and then shall they see eye to eye with the Messiah for whom they have longed, for they shall see Him through the eyes of God.
